Suicidal Employee Kills Fellow Workers

The Facts

Gunman reported to have had suicidal thoughts. Relative contacted police to warn them about his intent to die by suicide and purchase of a gun. Police went to his home, took the gun and temporarily held him for mental health reasons.

He downplayed suicidal thoughts or plans and was released. Months later he returned to work with a gun, shot others and killed self.

The insured was co-located with the employer that experienced the deadly weapon event. Victims were not part of insured's organization
